SAVOIRNET led a national research and consultation exercise that defined and prioritized the education and social needs of youth growing up in Canadian Forces families. This initiative included both youth and youth coordinators and involved an online survey, interviews and cross-Canada group visioning sessions.
The resulting National Youth Engagement Strategy serves as a tangible plan with supporting tactics for youth coordinators in each of our forty-three Canadian Forces communities. The strategy led to an important shift to a youth-centric model, including the establishment of youth councils and the inclusion of youth in the decision-making process.
